The construction season is off to a good start in Hawkesbury where already projects
worth more than $2 million have been undertaken.
As of the end of February, the town had issued 16 permits for work with a total
estimated value of $2,917,000 while after two months in 2011, the town had approved
26 permits with a total value of $864,400.
This year’s work includes three commercial renovation projects with a total value
of $2.4 million and six new commercial jobs worth $21,500. In the residential sector, four
new housing units, with a total value of $436,000, have been approved.
