ISLANDS The New Guinea Islands are situated in the rough shape of a ring around the Bismarck Sea in the north of Papua New Guinea. They can be divided into four main islands: Manus, New Britain, New Ireland and Bougainville. Literally hundreds of smaller island groups and atolls are dotted across these areas. The island of New Britain is truly a place of wonder. Kimbe Bay is renowned for having one of the most biologically-diverse marine environments in the world.
