SAFETY & SECURITY We want your stay in Papua New Guinea to be memorable for all the right reasons. As soon as you arrive, contact your hotel and check in. If you are here on business get in touch with your local contact. Make sure you keep your hotel or local contacts informed of your movements throughout your stay. If you own a mobile phone you can buy a pre-paid SIM
card from a number of outlets in the cities and towns. The two mobile networks are Digicel and bmobile. You may feel like taking a stroll but we recommend you check with your hotel first to find out if it is safe to do so. The best piece of advice we can give you is to trust your instincts. If it doesn’t feel right it probably isn’t. Some hotels will be more than happy to provide you
with a guide to accompany you while you take in the sights and sounds of Papua New Guinea. Make sure you leave your valuables in your hotel safe when going out. We would discourage you from attempting to explore any new area without knowing exactly where you are going and how you are going to get there. Once again check with your hotel or contact to make sure your destination is secure.
