The Assistive Technology Network is a government-funded, nonprofit, statewide program. Assistive technology is equipment, modified or customized, that is used to increase, maintain or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities. CTAP is a program of the California Public Utilities Commission Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program. Provides one-on-one and group training to older adults and people with disabilities on how to use devices such as iPad/Galaxy tablets to access online resources like telehealth, to reduce isolation, and stay connected in the digital age. Assistive Technology (AT) is any adaptive aid used by a person with a disability to function as independently as possible both in the workplace and at home. One-on-one instruction for people with sight loss to evaluate a person’s skills and needs and offer individualized recommendations and training with adaptive hardware and software, such as computers, note-takers, cell phones, screen readers, and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) systems. Helps households afford internet and devices needed for school, work, healthcare, and more. Various resources for technology products, training and internet access. Call and speak with an experienced social worker about available options. Technicians meet you at your home to troubleshoot and assist with your Information Technology needs.
