Orientation and Mobility
Individualized training for people with sight loss to develop skills required to travel independently, safely and confidently. Specific instruction covers spatial concepts, sensory awareness, long cane skills, and the use of public transportation. Courses available on a variety of topics designed to help people with sight loss gain skills needed to live independent, successful lives. Focused instruction includes courses in independent living skills, introduction to vision loss, and living with vision loss. Facilitates equity and access to a community college education for qualified students. Services include specialized academic advising focusing on individual abilities and limitations, disability management, and access technology.
