It’s simply tradition at this point to offer up one of the foundation donor cows from the Niobrara Red Angus program as Lot 1 in our Red, Redefined Sale. One of the best we could offer is Six Mile Marta 140E. With over 10 daughters in herd, and many more expected next spring, we felt now was the time to allow another progressive breeder the opportunity to build their herd around one of the Red Angus breed’s best. After a few years in production, generating some of the best heifer calves in those respective calf crops, we decided it was worthwhile to enter her into E.T. program. A daughter of Hi Caliber 177C, 140E stems from the breed-altering Red Angus matriarch, U6 Alana 13X. Combined with 300Y, I remember seeing this cow as a heifer calf at Six Mile Ranch, just before I joined the team with Niobrara. She was one of the very best they’d raised that year in Fir Mountain. If you can’t tell from the support photos, 140E rarely misses. Last year, a John Wick daughter by 140E was one of the High Selling bred heifers in Red, Redefined, selling for $18,000.
