Marketing Executives use digital tools to push their businesses to the next level. Trying to walk 5,000 steps per day? There’s an app for that. Need a date? There’s an app for that. Trying to learn yoga? Or another language? Or count calories? Yep, it’s right at your fingertips. As smart phones have gotten more popular, the number of applications available for them has exploded. In terms of usefulness, apps range from games and novel noise emulators to lifesaving programmes that can call for help or guide you through the steps of CPR. The abundance of so many apps also comes with challenges, namely finding the right one for your needs. In June 2016, Statista reported that Android users had more than 2.2 million apps available to them while iPhone enthusiasts came in with 2 million. If you don’t know what you’re looking for, you can literally spend years sorting through them all, and new ones are added every day. Melaleuca Marketing Executives* are working together to find apps that help each other become better business builders. Director 2 Riley Abang says her team started looking at apps during North American Convention 2016 while they spent a lot of time together trying to strategise ways to keep each other motivated and productive. “I thought, ‘what if there’s a way we could be accountable to each other more easily than calling every day?’” Riley says. “We started looking at different apps that are designed to help productivity, but most of them are for individuals, not for groups.” Finally, they stumbled upon one that fit their needs called HabitShare. “It’s a really cool app and it was the best one we found because it’s so customisable,” says Director 4 Devyn Ricks. The user creates habits they want to maintain or improve, such as making three or four phone calls per day. When they meet that daily goal, a notification is sent out to the team. This motivates the rest of the team to make sure they meet their goals too.
