WHITTLESEA TECH SCHOOL: THE WORLD OF WORK
The "Future of Work" inquiry program hosted at the Whittlesea Tech School was an eye - opening experience for our Year 8 students. It provided them with a unique chance to explore a topic that will undoubtedly shape their lives in the not - so - distant future. The program revolved around understanding and adapting to the profound changes that the workforce is undergoing, driven by advancements in technology. Throughout the day, our students delved into artificial intelligence, big data, automation, and globalisation of the job market. They were encouraged to question, investigate, and think critically about these topics, gaining valuable insights into how the world of work is evolving. It was truly remarkable to witness our young minds engaging with such complex concepts with enthusiasm and curiosity. One of the program's key objectives was to highlight the importance of developing 21st - century skills. These skills are rapidly becoming essential in the evolving landscape of the workforce. At Whittlesea Tech School, our students used an innovation cycle as an inquiry model. This process allowed them to identify opportunities for innovation in the workplace and to prototype solutions. Through this hands - on experience, they began to understand how innovation can be a driving force in adapting to the changes brought about by the 4th Industrial Revolution.
