CONNECT A ‘ rite of passage ’ and something we were very excited to see up and running post - covid was Year 10 Work Experience which was held at the end of Semester 1. Work Experience provides Year 10 students with a chance to obtain hands - on experience in a job of choice. It can lead to part - time work, apprenticeships or traineeships. Thanks to all parents/carers and business who supported the Year 10
students throughout finding and completing their work experience.
Overall I had a great learning experience and gained so much from the week and it helped me understand my future. I would love to eventually own my own construction business and expand around Australia. By doing inspections on site I realised what requirements I would need to follow to keep the jobsite safe. I received very positive feedback from my supervisor. They said that I was great to have around and was a great help. Jye, Work Experience at the Whittlesea Council.
