Bring it On!
SECONDARY PERFORMING ARTS
We were blown away with the efforts from our cast, crew, musicians and sensational Primary dancers who took part in the 2023 production of ‘ Bring It On the Musical ’. Please see below some reflections from our students. Throughout the production process I had so much fun. I found that I was enjoying school much more and I had the best experience from Year 7 so far. I got to know the older students and make some more friends. They were good role models and felt like big brothers. Ajak D The production team felt like a family to me. We were encouraged to strive for the highest and give 100% of our effort. It was fun to see everyone grow into their characters and then see them doing their best on stage. It was interesting to see two different sides of a person, even though one wasn ’ t real. I had a great time in the dressing room because every time I came off the stage, everyone was so encouraging and reassured me that I did well. Samantha L
The Lakes ‘ Bring It On ’ production was an all - out amazing experience for me. The opportunity of being involved in this production changed how I am as a student completely and strongly helped me become a better person and motivated to do my work. Having the chance to create the sets used on the stage brought me a lot of happiness, but also stress as I really didn ’ t want to mess up. Nonetheless, I tried my hardest and completed the graffiti - covered lockers to the best I could and was very proud of it and of what everyone else had made. It was incredible seeing what we had been planning out and designing come to life, and even better that we managed to do it in a relatively small timeframe. Being backstage helped me meet a lot of new and amazing people and still play a role while not having to perform. Everyone in the entire production was amazing and nice, and the vibes and atmosphere were incredible. I am very thankful for the opportunity to be involved in this production and enjoy it with so many other people.
My highlight of being involved in the production was the intensive rehearsals because I got to rehearse with the whole set and it was a great atmosphere. I enjoyed setting everything up at the theatre on the first day. I was so excited, happy and a bit nervous.
I am excited for the next Production in 2025 and I hope to be a leader of the backstage crew. Ryan A
Playing the drums in the production band was one of the best decisions I have made. I made heaps of friends and got along with everyone well. We managed to form a production family where we were all supported and encouraged to do our best. I looked forward to every rehearsal and I will definitely do it again when I am in Year 12. Aiden J
