Publish Notice of Election one time between these dates. If there is no newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the city, the notice shall be typewritten and copies shall be posted conspicuously within the time prescribed in at least three public places in the city. Deadline to Adopt Regulations Regarding Candidate Statements (Cal. Elec. Code §13307(f)) Deadline for jurisdictions to adopt or amend regulations regarding charges for printing candidate statements. Candidate Filing Period (Cal. Elec. Code §8020(b) §10220, §13311; Government Code §87200 et seq.) Candidates may request and file candidate filing documents in order to run for office. Candidate statements are confidential until the end of the filing period. Candidates must file a Statement of Economic Interest. Candidacy Withdrawal Period (Cal. Elec. Code §10224) A candidate may withdraw his or her nomination papers until the close of the nomination period.
