Signatures In Lieu of Filing Fee Petition Period – Candidates may circulate Signatures In Lieu of Filing Fee Petition to obtain signatures that may lower the cost of the non-refundable filing fee County Central Committee/Council Nomination Period – Candidates may request and file candidate filing documents in order to run for these offices, Declaration of Intention – Candidates intending to run for judicial offices must file a Declaration of Intention . Declaration of Intention Extension Period – If an eligible incumbent for a judicial office fails to file a Declaration of Intention by 5 p.m. on November 8, 2023, there will be a 5-calendar-day extension during which any candidate, other than the incumbent, may file. Candidate Filing Period – Candidates may request and file candidate filing documents in order to run for various offices. Deadline for Local Candidates to Withdraw – No local candidate shall withdraw from an office that does not have an extension period after 5 p.m. on December 8, 2023. Candidate Filing Extension Period – If an eligible incumbent for an office up for election does not file candidate filing documents by 5 p.m. on December 8, 2023, there will be a five-calendar-day extension during which any candidate, other than the incumbent, may file. Deadline for Extension Period Local Candidates to Withdraw – No local candidate shall withdraw from an office that has entered the extension period after 5 p.m. on December 13, 2023. Public Examination Period – Candidate statements are available for public examination. During this period, any citizen may seek a writ of mandate or an injunction requiring the material in the statements to be amended or deleted. Randomized Alphabet Drawing – The Secretary of State and San Bernardino County conduct a drawing of letters of the alphabet to determine the order in which candidates will appear on the ballot. Public Examination Period for Offices with Candidate Filing Extension – Candidate statements are available for public examination at the Registrar of Voters. During this period, any citizen may seek a writ of mandate or an injunction requiring the material in the statements to be amended or deleted.
