Appendix A. Qualifications

The Qualifications section of this guide contains the required qualifications that candidates must meet for each office up for election. Any candidate running for public office cannot have been convicted of a felony involving accepting or giving, or offering to give, any bribe, the embezzlement of public money, extortion or theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit any such crimes. See the specific qualifications for the offices below.

1. Federal & State Offices:

2. San Bernardino County:

Board of Supervisors: o

Qualifications: Be a registered voter of the district which she/he seeks to represent for at least 30 days immediately preceding the deadline for filing nomination documents. Reside in the district during their incumbency in accordance to Government Code §25041. Judge of The Superior Court: o Qualifications: A person must be a registered voter in the county where they reside. A person is ineligible to be a judge of a court of record unless for 10 years immediately preceding selection, the person has been a member of the State Bar or served as a judge of a court of record in this State according to Section 15 of Article VI of the California Constitution.

3. County Central Committee/Council Offices:

*Republican Central Committee: o

A person must be a registered voter of the party which he/she seeks to represent for a minimum of three months at the time of filing and not have been registered with another qualified political party for 12 months prior to the time of filing. (Cal. Elec. Code §8001(a)).

*Democratic Central Committee: o

A person must be a registered voter of the party which he/she seeks to represent for a minimum of three months at the time of filing and not have been registered with another qualified political party for 12 months prior to the time of filing. (Cal. Elec. Code §8001(a)).

• *Peace and Freedom Central Committee: o

A person must be a registered voter of the party which he/she seeks to represent for a minimum of three months at the time of filing and not have been registered with
