well as expertly planning and delivering to the agency’s requirements, has enabled the successful execution of the FY23 and FY24 Air Traffic Controller Workforce Plan requirements. Additionally, the FAA Academy is currently executing a training schedule that accommodates the Air Traffic New Hire Track 1 student count above the FY25 requirements. Flight Program Operations As the Agency’s flight program, the core business of Flight Program Operations is safe flight operations and the efficient execution of its mission set: flight inspection; aviation safety training; research, development, testing and evaluation (RDT&E) support; and critical event response/transportation. Flight inspection ensures the integrity of instrument approaches and airway procedures that constitute the National Airspace System and Department of Defense (DoD) infrastructure abroad. This organization is responsible for all agency flight operations, manned and unmanned, and all aspects of FAA Flight Program safety, administration, operations, training, and maintenance. The service unit operates a fleet of 35 FAA-owned aircraft at eight facilities across the country. It establishes standards for the operation of all agency-owned aircraft as well as aircraft/aircraft services acquired commercially. FAA Logistics Center The FAA Logistics Center performs centralized maintenance, repair, and overhaul of NAS equipment and provides supply chain management and logistics support services. The FAA Logistics Center’s mission capabilities include a Radar Repair Facility and Technical Support Facility that contain system-level repair operations and the agency’s state-of-the-art long-range radar test facility. The FAA Logistics Center also drives efficiencies across the federal government by serving as the primary logistics support for the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection and providing logistics support to several other federal agencies including the DoD. Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Technical Operations, Surveillance and Weather Group ATO Technical Operations performs national engineering responsibilities for the FAA NAS Surveillance and Weather systems. These responsibilities include serving as the Office of Primary Responsibility for maintaining and updating the hardware, software, and technical documentation throughout the system life cycle. The group develops equipment modifications as needed to ensure reliable and secure operational services. The group also provides expert troubleshooting as required to restore operational services.
