The leading states in Air Force contracting are all large traditional defense industry states and home to major Air Force installations. California and Texas are the two largest Air Force contracting states by a substantial margin. Air Force contracting is concentrated primarily in 16 states and the District of Columbia, each with $2 billion or more in Air Force contracts in fiscal year 2024.
