EXERCISE ESSENTIALS Walking Lunge Stand comfortably with your feet shoulder width apart. Take a large step forward with one leg, keeping your back foot in starting position while rolling onto your toes. Keep your spine straight and your forward and back knees bent, so that you make right angles with your hip, knee, and ankle. As you lunge, you should feel a stretch across the front of the hip and thigh. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat 2-5 times.
Have You Tried Aquatic Therapy? H2Orthopedic offers Aquatic Therapy sessions which are performed in our 92 degree heated indoor therapeutic pool and is located inside our facility. There is no driving to an off-site location with limited hours and where you may share pool time with swimmers and children participating in swim lessons. Our pool is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm and all sessions are truly one-on-one; you will never be part of a group. Your physical therapist will work closely with you to guide you through your stretches and exercises during each visit. The Properties of Water During Your Treatment Session Include: Hydrostatic Pressure which helps to decrease inflammation and increase circulation, eliminating muscle soreness, and increasing program participation. The water acts somewhat like a full-body support suit, exerting pressure evenly against swollen limbs and joints. Hydrostatic Pressure also removes lactic acid from cells, resulting in minimal soreness from even a rigorous underwater workout. The buoyancy and heat of the water helps alleviate increased weight bearing on sore joints while allowing your muscles to relax allowing you to move/strengthen through greater range of motion. Water provides resistance in all planes of motion and can be increased or decreased by changing speed of movement or by adding resistance equipment.
