Q16e. Here are some possible reasons why someone would not apply to Central. Which of these are reasons for you, if any: [n=223 students who would not consider CWU] [n=263 parents who said CWU was “poor fit ” or “acceptable”] • Among students, those most likely to say "location" varied by location: 60% in Eastern WA, 60% in King County outside Seattle, and 56% in Seattle, but 50% in Pierce/Kitsap counties, 40% in the North Sound, and 33% elsewhere in Western WA. • Areas most likely to be drawn to CWU for its location are also the areas most likely to avoid CWU for its location. • Parents most likely to say they need more information: > Parents of Asian descent (66%, v. 41% of whites) > Men (58%, v. 39% of women) > Alums of non-UW public universities in WA

(58%, v. 29% of UW alums) and private out-of state schools (51%, v. 38% who went to out-of-state public schools) • Parents Most likely to say "reputation": > Whites (27%, v. 16% of others) > UW alums (38%, v. 15% of graduates of other WA public universities)
