2 The student and parent questionnaires were similar, but not exactly the same. Each had four primary sections: 1. The process of choosing a college, including • What attributes are they looking for in a college? • Who Influences the decision? • What sources of information are most useful? 2. Evaluation of Washington’s state colleges and universities. • Parents were asked for the general impression of each • Parents were also asked the extent to which they considered each a “good fit’ for their son/daughter • Students were asked what colleges they were interested in attending 3. Evaluation of Central. The final portion of the questionnaire focused on CWU. • General awareness and overall impressions of CWU • Detailed perceptions of CWU • Inclination to apply to, or consider, CWU > Those who would were asked what they found attractive about CWU; > Those who would not were asked the reasons why not; > Those who would not were also asked what they would want to know about CWU. 4. Several demographic questions were also included to help in the categorization of respondents. The survey was administered by Elway Research, Inc. The questionnaire was designed in collaboration with representatives of CWU. This report begins with a summary of Key Findings followed by a detailed profile of the samples. Detailed findings are presented in annotated charts and graphs supplemented by a narrative summary.
