Anything in Stained Glass is family-owned and operated. For 25 years, the company was based in New Jersey, but the remote location discouraged walk-in traffic and off- season business. Ten years ago, said owner Paula Russin, “my husband and I decided to take over the business and move it to a location where the people were able to visit us all year round.” The decision was strategic and completely based on research. “We did a lot of research over several months to determine a new location for Anything in Stained Glass,” Russin said. “We determined Frederick, Maryland, to be the perfect location because most of the major roads in Maryland intersected in Frederick. We felt the location would be easy to find and accessible to surrounding states, plus it

would be a destination stop for those travel- ling north and south.” This perfect location was made even bet- ter when Anything in Stained Glass found St. John Properties. Now the company leases four suites. “We fully utilize every square inch!” Russin said. The location features two classrooms for teaching fused glass, stained glass and mosaic glass; space for national artists to visit and teach their specialized techniques; a packing department for shipping supplies and glass to customers worldwide; and a showroom and warehouse area where the company displays supplies and tools to visitors. “St. John Properties did an excellent job helping us utilize our space,” Russin said. “I provided them with a detailed diagram of what we needed based off the blue prints that they provided of the current space. Since our space was pre- viously occupied, St. John Properties needed to move walls, install lights and make a few other adjustments.”
