L akeview Surgery Center LLC in Bowie, Maryland, is an ambulatory surgery center (ASC). ASCs, also called outpatient surgery centers, provide surgical procedures that don’t require overnight hospitalization. Typically, these procedures aren’t as complicated as other treatments.

This was particularly true when Lakeview compared St. John Properties to other real estate companies in the area, ultimately choosing them because of “their ability to assist us through the process of building-out our surgery center and handling day-to-day maintenance,” Dr. Hall said, an important distinction for a health care company. As part of Melford Town Center, Lakeview joins a 466-acre mixed-use community, complete with convenient amenities nearby. The company’s single-story office building was exactly what Lakeview was looking for. “Our Surgery Center has a spacious waiting area, pre and post- operative area, large operating room and laser/procedure room,” Dr. Hall said.
Why is the location perfect for serving patients? As “an ophthalmology-based ambulatory surgery center that focuses on providing thoughtful, sophisticated patient care,” Dr. Hall said, “we find the overall atmosphere in Melford is very relaxing with ample free parking and easy access for our patients.” Could anything make the location even better? St. John Properties is already planning ahead for that question. Melford Town Center recently added a Courtyard by Marriott hotel, and nearly 2,000 town homes, multi-family rental units and senior living units are being developed now.
