TEAM POM ROUTINE ALL STYLES WELCOME : CONTEMPORARY & TRADITIONAL! The routines will be judged on choreography, technique, showmanship, execution/uniformity, appearance, knowledge, and overall visual effect. Points will also be awarded for creativity & difficulty. Poms should be used at least 80% of the routine, no props 3:00 min.maximum TEAM DANCE J azz, Contemporary, Lyrical etc... come show off your unique style! The dance should focus on technical movement, uniformity, stylization, musicality and execution of turns, leaps, jumps etc. No poms used. 3:00 min.maximum TEAM KICKLINE The focus of this routine is centered around the “kick”! Technique, group uniformity, creativity of kick sequences, patterns and formations will all be evaluated. Does not need to be original/new. 3:00 min.maximum TEAM HIP HOP The emphasis is on stylized, synchronized choreography of funk, hip-hop or “street dance” style. Judging pts. will include style, uniformity, showmanship/attitude, technique, creativity and musicality. No poms or kicklines should be incorporated. Does not need to be original/new. 3:00 min.maximum 2O23 SOLOS BACK IN ‘23 : POM -or- DANCE : Soloists are encouraged to showcase their talent. The routines should highlight the strengths of the performer with choreography, physical ability, showmanship & technique. 1:30 min.maximum 2O23 DUETS & SM. ENSEMBLES POM -or- DANCE (2)= DUET & (3-5)= SM. ENSEMBLE performers are encouraged to show their special routines. The routines will be judged on choreography, technique, use of each dancer, uniformity & showmanship. 1:30 min GENERAL INFORMATION: 1. The general TEAM entry is $22 per dancer for the 1st team routine. Extra routines are $50 each. Solos/Duets/Sm.Ensembles are priced separately 2. This is an OPEN event. We are excited to welcome ALL pom & dance teams to compete on the state level ! 3. Divisions are based on the “average grade” of your your performing group for Tiny, Mini,Youth, JR High & JV teams. This includes This includes “All-Star” & Recreation teams. Roster/age forms will be provided. 4. An adult (21 yrs+) coach/cha coach/chaperone must accomp perone must accompany and be responsible for each team. Only registered coaches will be admitted FREE & have “practice-gym” access to students performing. Absolutely NO CARRY-INs are allowed. 5. You will be performing on a HS basketball court. a HS basketball court. Complete judging categories & details will be emailed upon receipt of your registration. registration. 6. Traveling directions, medical waiver forms, team ros ters and final instructions will be sent via EMAIL to the registered coach after 11/20. 7. The certified judging panel will be in a marked area. All judging sheets will be returned to coaches following the awards ceremony. 8. All music will be submitted via email download. Instructions on MP3 download will be sent after registration is received. 9. Music, costuming & choreography should be appropriate for family viewing. Shoes must be worn, NO bare midriffs & NO jewelry allowed . 10. NO REFUNDS will be made after November 1st. The event will not be cancelled due to weather. 11. 2023 MICHIGAN SPIRIT SHOWDOWN T-shirts will be available for team pre-orders at a discounted rate. Shirts will feature the official logo & all team names. The design will be available by 11/10 @ www.badgerettepompon.com. 12. VIDEOTAPING: It is BPP Inc. safety policy that you may only video your OWN routine. This must be from a seated position in the stands. 13. A spectator fee will be charged for entrance into the event. Only registered coaches & performers will have access to team areas. 14. The BPP SPIRIT STORE will be at the event & feature great pom/dance wear.
