2025 MPE Regional Trainings Trainings MPE is pleased to host the following regional training sessions. Participants will receive .6 CEU credits or 5 SEMIs for completing each course. Each session’s content is timely for educators during the 2024-2025 school year. All sessions and CEUs/SEMIs are free for MPE and MS NBCT Network members. Non-members must pay $25 to attend, which includes CEUs or SEMIs.
USING AI IN THE CLASSROOM : This professional learning opportunity for educators delves into the essentials of artificial intelligence (AI) that every educator needs to know. In this highly interactive session, attendees will explore generative AI tools for images, videos, audio, and text. Participants will leave the session with actionable strategies to incorporate AI ef - fectively. ▪ January 28, 2025 South Jones High School, EES Auditorium, Ellisville 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ▪ January 23, 2025 Natchez Grand Hotel, Natchez 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ▪ February 18, 2025 Hinds Community College, Clyde Muse Center, Pearl 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m . CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES: Effective classroom management strategies and skills are essential for student learning. This training focuses on how K-6 and 7-12 educators can create a positive and inviting classroom culture, recognize proactive techniques to foster desired behaviors, implement behavioral interventions, and recognize effective instructional delivery techniques which all work to develop responsibility, self-control, and character in students. K-6 Training Sessions ▪ February 4, 2025 Pearl Early Childhood Education Center, Pearl 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 7-12 Training Sessions ▪ February 3, 2025 Holmes Community College, Attala Center, Kosciusko 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. EFFECTIVE CONFERENCING WITH PARENTS/STAKEHOLDERS: The purpose of this session is to empower educators to have productive, solutions-based communication with parents and stakeholders. The training will be divided into two sessions. In the morning session, participants will take time to reflect and consider communication styles, considerations when walk - ing into parent-teacher conferences, and how to ensure preparedness for various types of conferences. In the afternoon session, we will take the skills acquired and explore how we engage with community stakeholders and how to communi - cate in a public context. ▪ February 6, 2025 Hancock Leadership Center, Tupelo 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING: Social-emotional learning begins with putting students first. This session takes a ho - listic approach from staff to student, encompassing relationships within the school and creating the structure for alliances in the community. The session will navigate educators through CASEL’s five competencies to develop or strengthen founda - tions and processes for the classroom and school. ▪ January 14, 2025 Mississippi State University, College Park, Meridian 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ▪ January 31, 2025 The Alluvian Hotel, Greenwood 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
