One loses his feeling of being irked by the title of this book as soon as he opens its pages. The forty chap ters are expositions of all the passages in the New Testament in which the phrase “ one another” occurs. The re sult is that the book is a Biblical commentary on the divinely taught relationship of believers with each other. How warm and helpful would we be to one another if all Chris tians could consider from God’s Word with the help of this volume all the possibilities involved! 155 pages; cloth; Our Daily Walk Publishers, Erie, Pa.; $2.25. Phillips These nine addresses were delivered over British and Australian broad casting stations with the aim of pre senting “ plain Christianity” to the secularized public. Much that is good will be found here, in spite of many evidences that the author does not hold the full evangelical position. In his address on “ The Modem Trans lations of the Bible” he states that “ although not very many people now adays hold what we might call a mechanical view of the inspiration of the Scriptures—that is, that they were dictated from Heaven word for word to the sacred writers—yet there re mains such a tremendous reverence for the Word of God and especially for what may have been the actual words of Christ, that people tend to look with disfavor upon the translator who does anything more than substi tute for any Greek word its nearest English equivalent.” Phillips is the author of Letters to Young Churches. 87 pages; cloth; The Macmillan Co., New York, $1.65.
