Fruit pre-supposes life; it is an opera­ tion in the realm of life. b. Fruit implies cultivation: John 15:1 ,2,5; Heb. 12:6,11. c. Fruit suggests sustenance: God is hungry for love ' from men. Hos. 11:8 is the cry of love. God call­ ing to Adam in the Garden after the fall was not so much that of an arresting policeman, but the an­ guished voice of a loving Father who has lost, his only child. God is hun­ gry for the fruit of love. Thus we are brought to: 2. The revelation of Christianity, which is love! a. Christianity revealed in one word. b. Everything following love is an in­ terpretation and explanation of love. c. An analysis of love. Joy is love’s consciousness. Peace is love’s confidence. Long-suffering is love's habit. Gentleness is love’s ac­ tivity. Goodness is its quality. Faith­ fulness is its quantity. Meekness is its tone. Temperance is love’s vic­ tory. How can we love so as to have these re­ sultant effects? 3. The revelation of the dynamic of Christianity, the Spirit. a. By the Spirit we receive life. b. Are empowered. c. Every other means that has been tried for the spiritual transformation of man has failed. c. It is the power of God unto salvation. 3. The cross is the emblem of true Chris­ tian discipleship: a. If any man will be my disciple, let him take up his cross daily and fol­ low me, said Jesus. It is more than a cross on a neck­ lace or pin. We can wear these and be as disloyal as Judas.
