Coop-owned Hospital Helps Enliven Medical Tourism Industry in Malaysia By : NADIAH KAMARUDIN A total of USD727.2 million was spend by international tourists for medical purpose when visiting Malaysia in 2017. The number represented 3.7 percent of the total expenditure recorded in the same year, which came in at USD19.6 billion, thus putting “health treatment” as the fourth main purpose of visit by foreign visitors to the country.
