Construction on Ruthar Dr. will accommodate about 250 more students Renovations at Las Américas ASPIRA Academy completed by Emory Hill & Co.
EWARK, DE — A major renovation of Las Américas ASPIRA Construction on the build- ing interior on Ruthar Dr. in Newark will allow the school to accommodate about 250 more students, and the acad- emy hopes to reach a capacity of 800 students in the near future. The renovations in- cluded brand new classrooms, two new science labs, new back entrances and foyers, a new middle school entrance and N Academy has been completed in time to welcome new students on Monday.

Emory Hill &Company be- gan the construction this past February and rapidly worked to finish so that the school could open on time. “We couldn’t be more thrilled with the construc- tion process and the results,” said Greg Panchisin, ASPIRA’s director of school operations. “We are proud to welcome the students and parents back into a brighter, more vibrant facility and look forward to even more growth in the future.” Las Américas ASPIRA Acad- emy was established to provide students with a world class education that prepares them through a dual-language, proj- ect-based learning curriculum. The Delaware school is one of eleven charter schools affiliated with the ASPIRA Association. ASPIRA has had over fifty years of experience creating and implementing formal and informal education programs that build up youth self-esteem, cultural awareness, and lead- ership abilities. Originally founded as a Puerto-Rican organization, ASPIRA Associ- ate Offices in the 6 states of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Florida and Illinois and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico now serve a di- verse population of youth, with the specific mission to empower the Puerto Rican and Latino community through advocacy and the education and leader- ship development of its youth. Emory Hill & Co. is the construction division of the Emory Hill Companies , which provides Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic region with commercial real estate broker- age, construction, property management, maintenance and residential real estate sales. n
