Kick off the holiday season in Dublin with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 1. See live performances, an ice sculptor, holiday characters and Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Visit DublinOhioUSA.gov/events/tree-lighting for more information. Block Party Packages The City of Dublin offers civic and homeowner associations use of block party packages. The package includes tents, chairs, tables, trash bins, sandwich boards, barricades and a sound system. Association leadership may formally reserve the block party between May 1 and Oct. 31. There is a $50 first-time use fee. Additional reservation requests for each association within the same year are $100. The City will deliver the package on Friday afternoon and pick up the following Monday from one pre-determined location in your neighborhood. It is the responsibility of the neighborhoods to set up and tear down the equipment within these timeframes. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Only official associations may rent this equipment. Rental is available for neighborhood-hosted and entire-neighborhood invited gatherings. This package is not available or intended for personal use such as graduation parties, garage sales or personal events. If a block party is misused, future privileges for use may be denied. Community Event Permit Process More than 100 events per year choose Dublin as their host city. The Community Event Permit Process is designed to ensure a safe and successful event for organizers as well as participants, guests and our residents. If you are planning an event on Dublin public property or inviting guests to an event that may affect public property, traffic or residents within or surrounding the City of Dublin, a Community Event Permit is required.
