PUMPKIN COMPOSTING
It’s pumpkin-everything season. When your real pumpkin starts looking like the nightmare before Christmas — compost it! Pitch your gourds at Dublin’s pumpkin composting bin at the Service Center (6555 Shier Rings Road) starting Oct. 17 and continuing through Dec. 9. Last year, you helped divert 52,440 pounds of pumpkins and other gourds out of the landfill. Please note that pumpkins cannot be included with your yard waste pickup as they do not decompose like grass clippings or leaves and are therefore not accepted by yard waste processing facilities.

Cleaning out your office? Bring your old papers, mail and other sensitive documents to the City of Dublin’s fall Document Destruction Day event. Taking place from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the City’s Fleet Building, 6351 Shier Rings Road. Check out all items that are accepted for shredding and familiarize yourself with the event by visiting DublinOhioUSA.gov/Document- Destruction-Day.
TOUCH-A-TRUCK
The Dublin Police Department is teaming up with EASE Logistics for the 10 a.m. Oct. 8 Touch-A-Truck event to showcase public safety vehicles. Kids can explore and learn more about how the police operate at 5725 Avery Road, Dublin.
