Goodbye my Friend

A memory book for children, for their special pet.

p e t ’ s n

They will not go quietly, the pets who’ve shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their memory still survives. Old habits still can make us think we hear them at the door. Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor. Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be. And, sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly. And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill, That one place in our hearts belongs to them... and always will.

Stick in a photo in if you prefer

A letter to my best friend What would you like to tell your pet?

e

Dear

What I will miss the most is

My pet was my friend because

The funniest thing I remember is

The first time I met my pet I

love from

What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; All that we love deeply becomes a part of us. Helen Keller

Writing in different coloured pens or pencils will make your letter look nice and bright

Choose colours to match your emotions.

My legs are feeling tired, and I think it's time to go.

Do you remember all the wonderful things we did together?

You might feel sad, or lonely or even a little bit confused. It's okay to feel strange when I go away.

I wish that I could talk to you, and tell you that things will get better.

It can be really helpful to talk about your feelings, especially if they were friends with me too.

I'm going to sleep now and I won't be coming back. But don't worry about me, I feel so peaceful.

Humans have lots of ways of remembering something that was special to them. I don't mind what you choose to do, because I already know that you love me!

I remember doing all kinds of fun things with you. We played together, had nice walks and I was always happy to see you!

When you miss me, all you need to do is remember all the special times we shared.

My favourite part was knowing how much you loved me.

Can you remember all of the times you shared together?

When tomorrow starts without me And I’m not here to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes All filled with tears for me I wish you wouldn’t cry The way you did today While thinking of the many things We did not get to say I know how much you love me As much as I love you Each time that you think of me I know you will miss me too
