香港資訊 Science for You

The atmosphere surrounds the surface of the Earth. Do you know how thick the atmosphere is? Scientists divide the atmosphere into five layers based on their temperatures. Different layers have different features.

Artificial satellites work in this layer. The fifth layer

The fourth layer Air is very thin, but it can block the harmful things from sunlight. Astronauts live in this layer.

The third layer Air is thin and cold.

The second layer Planes usually fly in this layer.

The first layer It is the closest layer to the ground. Humans, animals and plants live in this layer. There are different weather conditions, such as clouds and rain, here.

Let’s Think

1. Which layer do we live in? 2. Which layer of the atmosphere do birds fly in? What about planes?
