WALL CONSTRUCTION Interior wall construction is typically 8” CMU or concrete are areas where the chimps had access. All other areas are constructed of 6” metal studs and 5/8” gypsum wall board. WINDOWS/GLAZING Interior glass in doors appears to be tempered as required by code. At the observation windows to the chip spaces, a 1” laminated safety glass in steel frames has been used. A storefront system has been used at the gift shop. A sandwich polycarbonate glazing system has been used at skylights at the entry lobby and at the interior chimp cage area. DOORS AND HARDWARE Exterior The exterior entrance from the south is aluminum glazed swinging doors in aluminum storefront wall. Other exterior doors are service-type and are painted hollow-metal in good condition. Panic hardware is provided is provided where required at all exits. Exterior doors are serviceable. Interior Interior doors vary as to type of space, use, and location. Generally interior office doors are solid-core wood with steel frames (some with glass relites) with 3-hinges. At swinging doors, mortise locksets with level handles are provided. Service doors are hollow-metal steel painted. Where required they are appropriately provided with exit hardware and closers. The doors from the chimp support area and the observations areas at the east side of the outdoor cage are horizontal aluminum and glass sliding doors. They are in fair condition. The doors in the chimp are are typically security mesh and steel. It is assumed that all interior steel mesh and caging systems will be removed. The main entrance lobby and the interior observation area open to the public has a paver finish. It is in fair condition but ill-suited to continued use due to settlement and vapor transmission. It is recommended that all interior pavers be removed and replaced with concrete in any future work. Service Corridors The majority of corridors have exposed and polished concrete. It is in good to fair condition with some cracking. FLOOR COVERING Lobby:
