and August Spier, Babs envisioned a new organizational structure and a strong artistic direction that expanded the breadth of Dancers’ Workshop to include presenting world-class artists. A new large upstairs studio and an office was added as classes grew. Nationwide auditions were held to attract and hire 8 dancers and teachers to support the school and form Contemporary Dance Wyoming (CDW), a professional modern dance company. With strong community buy-in, Dancers’ Workshop began to grow into an internationally-recognized home for dance while stewarding its deep roots and continued cultivation of inspired and innovative connections.
