At first, he continued his job as a driver and delivered ice periodically. Eventually, he had enough orders for ice that he decided to quit his job. While I imagine it was frightening for him to leave his career of many years — which came with a regular paycheck and benefits — he took a chance on himself and has had amazing success because of it. In just a handful of years, Pachanga Ice has become nearly a million-dollar business, and Oscar’s reviews prove its success. One of Oscar’s clients tells the story of ordering 400 pounds of ice two days before their wedding and still getting their delivery on time. Oscar also helps out restaurant owners who are in pinch when their ice machines either break or under produce during the scorching summer temperatures. They boast about his quick delivery times and friendly demeanor. While I have clients with all sorts of various journeys into business ownership, Oscar’s is one of my favorites because it exemplifies his ability to stay true to his dream.
