Our Fun Managers are open and willing to incorporate favourite pastimes, respond to feedback, and encourage residents to lead their own workshops using their talents or hobbies. While there are many ways to get involved, people can spend the day as they wish. ey will be encouraged to join in but, indeed, never forced. ere are many other ways for residents to socialize with their neighbours. Sometimes, more introverted residents simply enjoy reading a book in the bistro or going for a walk with a friend. In contrast, other outgoing residents may enjoy participating in game nights or group activities. “When one resident moved in, she was nervous to get involved. We connected her with two other residents to join our morning coee social. She began meeting new people and soon felt more comfortable and relaxed. Now, she attends almost Aging Well
every activity and exercise, from baking to crafting to shopping trips. Her family shared how happy they are that mom is so busy and that they must check the monthly activity calendar to see when she’ll be home to visit!” Recalls Rebecca McCullough, Fun Manager. “My goal has always been to provide residents with exciting activities that benet them physically, emotionally and spiritually,” shares Fun Manager Emily Reitsma. “We also provide them with volunteer opportunities that allow them to use their skills while making a dierence in the local community.” At Seasons, we also understand that thoughtful and comprehensive integration of a wellness philosophy is proven to meet the expectations of current and future clients. erefore, Seasons has partnered with the International Council on Active Aging® (ICAA).
