Perks of being present The events are a great way to spread the good word about the FMB, but many members pick up sales leads of their own as a result of their interactions with homeowners in the Advice Centre. The public is naturally impressed with the amount of experience and knowledge that members have to offer. The shows provide opportunities to meet like- minded members, architects who help in the Advice Centre, and FMB staff who look after the stands at the shows around the UK. Not to mention – there’s a free lunch for those who spend the full day giving advice. Members also have the option to present at the Masterclass theatre, which is an excellent way to promote the FMB and what membership means for your business and your clients. At the recent national show in Birmingham, Richard de Sousa of Glorious Garden Rooms Ltd presented to the public on choosing the right building contractor. He was received well and asked plenty of follow-up questions from engaged audience members.
