TAMEKA JACKSON LETTER FROM AFEE PRESIDENT
Greeting!
On behalf of The Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education, I welcome you to our annual Winter Emerald and Gold Debutante Presentation. As a signature program and event of the Foundation, and in partnership with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ®, Xi Theta Omega Chapter, the program provides young ladies who are seniors in high school opportunities to develop and grow through workshops that push them to become young women who will go into society and make a difference. Since its inception, we have contributed over $400,000 in college scholarships to support education. This year’s event will “Reign in Royalty”. An evening the 2024 Coterie of Debutante, parents, escorts, other family members, and friends will remember! Twenty-three beautiful young ladies from the DFW Metroplex have excelled in academic and civic endeavors, exhibited grace, displayed charm, and extended sisterliness. With memorable milestones, such as the Mother Daughter Tea and Pearl Ceremony, culminating with the Debutante Ball; our Scholarship Committee has poured tirelessly into these young ladies as they participated in educational workshops, community service, and mentored activities designed to develop leadership skills, encourage unity, promote community service and exceed in academic excellence. Because of their diligence, and active engagement to meet eligibility criteria, we take pleasure in being able to award over $20,000 in scholarships and other recognition to the participants.
Congratulations to each darling debutante being presented this evening. We know you will look back on this experience fondly, and use these lifelong lessons in your future endeavors. Parents and supporters of these young ladies are to be commended for the love, dedication, and contribution of sacrifice made to ensure a successful presentation. We hope we have instilled a sense of networking for you within the program. AND, a very special acknowledgment to the Scholarships Committee especially to the Vice President of Scholarships Kendra Hall-Banks and Co-Chairman Gwen Newsom for a job tremendously well done! Your planning, commitment, and enthusiasm for making this season impactful show through the wonderful production of the presentation bring a true fairytale to life!
Sincerely, Tameka Jackson 2021-2024 President
