Greetings and Welcome!
We are thrilled to have you join us as we “Reign in Royalty” at this very special Coterie of Debutantes. The 2024 Winter Emerald and Gold Scholarship Ball is the culmination of 6 months of hard work and commitment to our Debutante process by 23 beautiful young ladies and their families. This year’s debutantes have participated in numerous sessions including Self-Care & Fitness, Etiquette training, College Prep and planned a Community Service event. For over 116 years, the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha have been dedicated to cultivating and encouraging high scholastic and ethical standards, promoting unity and friendship among college women, studying to help alleviate problems concerning girls and women, maintaining a progressive interest in college life and being of Service to All Mankind. Since 1982, the Xi Theta Omega Chapter has upheld and fulfilled this mission in the Arlington community. The Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education (AFEE) was founded in 2004 by the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Xi Theta Omega Chapter (XTO) to provide relevant community programs in Arlington, TX, and the surrounding communities, to enhance the educational and personal development of youth, and to provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. As the 22nd president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® – Xi Theta Omega Chapter and a member of the AFEE Board of Directors, I am proud of the 20-year collaboration and partnership between AFEE and XTO in numerous programs, including the Family Expo, Youth Education Success (YES!) Summit, and our Debutante Program.
