LETTER FROM DEAN OF DEBUTANTES

Good evening and welcome to the 2024 Winter Emerald and Gold Debutante Ball and Scholarship Presentation. It is with pride that I have had the opportunity to serve as the Dean of Debutantes for these 23 poised, polished, and regal young ladies. The 2024 Coterie of Debutantes have been working diligently over the past seven months to prepare for their debut today. This presentation is the culmination of months filled with community service, personal development sessions, etiquette classes, college preparatory workshops, leadership development opportunities, dance rehearsals, and so much more. These young ladies are focused and committed to entering and succeeding in higher education, becoming leaders, and making a difference in our communities. It has been my privilege to work with each of them and I thank them for their dedication to the process, hard work, and time and effort toward each session. Congratulations to the parents and families of the debutantes. You should be very proud of them as they are being presented tonight. I salute you on a job well done in helping them to achieve their goals through your unconditional love and support. Fathers and Father Figures, your work is never done so please continue to “dance” with your daughters. They need you to be there for them along their journeys of gaining self-confidence, empowerment, academic achievement, and overall development. I extend a special thank you the young men who are escorting our debutantes tonight. I appreciate your willingness to sacrifice your time to participate. It will always be true that with respectful and dignity, responsible young men make a difference in the lives of our young ladies. Thank you for “rising to the occasion” in support of our 2024 Coterie of Debutantes.
To the Debutante Personal Development Committee, Mentors, and Scholarship Committee chairmen and members, I am humbled and grateful for your support. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the process. It is because of you that these 23 debutantes will have memories that reign a lifetime. To our Debutantes, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives for the past seven months and for entrusting me to provide you with the skills and confidence to be prepared for the challenges of the world as you step into the next phase of your young adult lives. I congratulate you on your many achievements, talents and contributions in your schools and the community, and it is my hope that you will continue the path of success, demonstrating a vision and determination to Reign in Royalty.
