ENGLISH LANGUAGE, TESOL, AND APPLIED LINGUISTICS Our Applied Linguistics, English Language, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) degrees are designed to unravel the mysteries of language, analyse how societies communicate, and bridge the gap between theory and practice. It’s not just about books; it’s about understanding how language shapes our world. There is an opportunity to study the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). This is a practical, internationally recognised teaching qualification, which includes 6 hours of observed teaching practice. Subject to an interview process and an average 2:1 grade in Year 1, students who are accepted on to the CELTA can take this qualification as a module in the second year, or you can take our innovative BSc degree that take a more technical approach to Applied Linguistics.
