Yet although the corporate organizational hierarchy and social systems had seemed impenetrable for decades, some tenacious women are now stepping up and speaking out, demanding more representative pay and respect. However, it’s too little, too late for many uber capable C-Suite women, who have left to create impact by launching entrepreneurial pursuits; witness Sara Blakely, who founded Spanx, Reshma Saujani founded Girls Who Code to rectify gender inequality in STEM, Rachel Rodgers founded Hello Seven, coaching women of color to scale their income to 7 figures, Shelley Zalis founded The Female Quotient, to shift power dynamics and promote women in leadership, Sallie Krawcheck founded Ellevest, a digital investment platform for women, Lynne Twist founded Soul of Money Institute coaching women to align their money with their soul’s purpose and Whitney Johnson founded Disruption Advisors for women to reinvent themselves utilizing disruption theory in leadership.
