people, learning from them, and serving others in a meaningful way. Getting very involved in Rotary showed me that I could lead others, and I loved it. I believe I was drawn to hypnosis because I experienced the power of the subconscious and how it can help free us. My part-time hypnosis practice was my first experience helping women who were struggling to lose weight. It was immensely gratifying to witness their transformation. The practice was short-lived, but the seeds for later were planted. When I moved to Las Vegas, I briefly re-entered the corporate world. I ended up working for an extremely abusive couple, and thankfully, that was only seven months of torture. In 2012, I started my digital marketing business, which ultimately had eight employees. I created a culture of reciprocal mentoring. The Boomers helped the Millennials with business etiquette, and they helped us with technology. COVID was tough but we hung on. Still, something was missing. I felt that my “power” was somewhere else. defeated, and invisible. That’s when my true purpose became clear. I once again went back to school to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I built a program. I wrote a book. I created a movement. I now knew it’s not just about what we eat, it’s about what we believe, how we lead, and who we become when we stop apologizing for taking up space. It’s about menopause, and the impact of that on our hormones and so many other things. It’s about women claiming their power to take care of themselves, love their bodies, and understand how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. My power doesn’t lie in my resume. It lies in my lived experiences. Being a Woman of Power means showing up for others even when I’ve had to piece myself back together. It means continuing to learn, evolve, and expand. I went back to finish my bachelor’s at 43 and earned my master’s ten years later, not because I had to, but because I’m always curious, always growing. Power, to me, is not about status. It’s about service. It’s about choosing to lead with integrity, vision, and heart. It’s about deciding that our past doesn’t define us, but it can refine us, if we let it. Now, it’s about sharing what I have learned. I’ve done many things, and helping women release the anger, resentment, and grief they carry about their bodies is where I feel at home. This is what I want to do. I help them reclaim their confidence and get their sexy back after years of feeling lost. That is the most powerful work I’ve ever done. The future…it lies in adventure. In knowing who I am, what I want, and how I want to spend my time. I do not know what lies ahead. I do know that curiosity will lead to learn new things, meeting new people, and experiencing more of what life has to offer. If this story resonates with you, I’d love to hear your reflections.
