The Unwritten Journey: Redefining Power, Purpose, and Possibility by Jillian Verdun

My transition from the structured world of finance to transformational consulting was not the result of a single moment. Deep down I realized I was made for more than what I was doing. I started to notice a pattern when I spoke with women about their finances: the same two feelings kept coming up — “money shame and underpaying themselves.” These feelings affected them emotionally, mentally, and spiritually causing them to stay broke even though they were making more money. I knew financial systems could only take them so far. What they needed was someone to help them discover their relationship with money from the inside out. And that meant going first—healing my money wounds, breaking limiting beliefs, and allowing myself to live without guilt. I embraced vulnerability as a strength and allowed myself to be guided by passion and purpose. My background in financial systems gave me structure. But my calling required something deeper: courage, compassion, and the willingness to step out of my comfort zone and into purpose. I wish more women understood that their special power isn’t just about work, but it’s also a mission that’s connected to who they are inside. Real success comes from balancing what you do in your business with what makes you feel good inside. Money is not the end goal — it’s a tool used to guide us towards making a real difference. Power, to me, is not control. It’s clarity - the kind that comes when your financial decisions align with your ultimate assignment. It’s knowing how to allocate your resources - your money, your time, and your impact - in ways to multiply what truly matters. Women are rising as the future of finance—not because we’re trying to mimic old systems, but because we’re building new ones that are more generous and more value-driven.

In the ever-evolving story of our lives, there are moments when we redefine who we truly are. Over 10 years ago, I was overseeing millions in other people’s businesses — outwardly appearing successful, but internally disconnected from my true purpose. I had the degrees, the certifications, and the trust of my clients, but I hadn’t yet allowed myself to fully step into who I truly am. The journey to power is often misunderstood, particularly for women who strive to break beyond traditional boundaries. Many presume it’s about dominance, but for me, it's about connection - aligning one’s actions with their inner calling. Back then, I thought success meant playing it safe — shrinking to fit into boardrooms based on my corporate experience. I spoke just enough to be respected, but never so much that I risked ruffling feathers. But deep down, a different story was being written. Today, I am not just an accountant, I am a woman of faith, impact, and conviction. I help women, who like me, dream big but are tired of feeling like financial success means choosing between peace and profit. I live and lead with this truth: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). My authority doesn’t come from a title. It comes from being aligned with my assignment.
