Culture, Leadership, Momentum: The Real Foundations of Sustainable Growth by Vera Firman

And one thing I’ve learned is: if you do not invest in your people, your growth won’t last.

If someone told the younger version of me; the girl growing up in Kerch, collecting glass bottles and reselling baby clothes for coins, that one day she’d be running two international businesses, she wouldn’t have believed it. I come from a place where entrepreneurship was misunderstood, and the idea of using advanced tools felt light years away. Yet here I am, helping entrepreneurs grow with automation and smart systems. When I started my business journey, I thought the key to growth was working harder. I thought if I just put in more hours, learned more skills, or added the right tools, I would eventually get to where I wanted to be. But over the years, I learned something deeper. Yes, tools matter, but people build businesses. Culture, leadership, and energy are what really keep a company growing. I’ve built teams across continents and worked with people in different time zones; people with different languages and work styles. And one thing I’ve learned is: if you do not invest in your people, your growth won’t last. At the same time, we live in a fast-moving digital world. Business owners, especially women, are feeling the pressure. We’re juggling families, clients, admin tasks, and the emotional load that comes with leading something on our own. We want to grow, but we’re overwhelmed. We feel like we need to be everywhere. That’s where the right systems come in.
