INSTALLATION : EXHAUST FLUE INSTALLATION
CANADIAN FLUE – DURATECH CANADA®: All Canadian GARN® WHS units utilize a universal flue connection. As a result, Duratech Canada® flue that meets ULC-S629 certification may be used. Do NOT use Canadian single wall or flue that is certified to ULC-S604. Use the pipe, wall thimble and locking bands that are equivalent to the USA specified items. Do NOT short cut the flue installation; strictly follow the flue installation specifics in this GARN® Owners’ Manual, the flue manufacturer’s manual, and all Canadian and provincial codes. Carefully follow instructions for locking and sealing the flue to the GARN® WHS unit. Never use air insulated or single-wall flue pipe with any GARN® WHS unit.
CONNECTING THE FLUE TO THE UNIT – older or existing units
VERTICAL FLUE CONNECTION
THE FIRST FLUE SECTION CONNECTED TO THE GARN® WHS MUST BE SILICONE SEALED TO THE FLUE RING. In addition, #10 self-drilling/self-tapping stainless steel screws are
to be driven through the collar ring into the outer wall of the flue to prevent separation of the flue.
