When you purchase a GARN® Wood Heating System, treatment chemicals are provided for the initial fill of your GARN WHS unit, and initial chemical testing.* To protect your investment follow the GARN Water Treatment Program outlined below. Properly maintained, you should have years of reliable and trouble-free service from your GARN unit. *LIMITATIONS: With the purchase of your GARN® WHS unit you are provided sufficient PreCleaner and Corrosion Inhibitor to treat the water volume of your unit under normal conditions. Greater than 80% of all installs fall within this description. However, variables may be present in your particular system installation that may require the purchase of additional chemicals to complete your program properly. Examples of variables that may require additional chemical purchases include, but are not limited to: additional significant system water volume, biological infestation of the fill water, major leaks in an existing system, accidental overflows, etc. Customer support services including ongoing testing and consultation with regards to your water treatment program will incur additional charges. Requested services beyond those pertinent to the program will also incur additional charges. All questions can be addressed to Charlie Johnson. READ ALL INFORMATION BELOW before starting chemical treatment of your the GARN WHS unit. Quality fill water combined with proper cleaning, treatment, ongoing filtration and twice per year follow up should assist your GARN WHS unit in providing years of low cost, environmentally friendly wood heating. Shipped with your unit is sufficient Cleaner and Water Treatment chemical to initially clean and treat most GARN WHS units at start-up . Difficult fill water or extensive and/or dirty existing heat delivery systems may require additional chemical at an additional cost. The GARN® Water Treatment Program begins with the SAMPLE BOTTLE packaged with the water treatment program box. This program combines diligent water testing with bypass filtration and chemical treatments tailored to your individual situation. STEP 1 – FILL WATER SAMPLE TEST: Before filling your GARN® unit, send a sample of the fill water to Johnson Products for analysis. When drawing a sample, always fully rinse the container twice with the water being sampled before collecting the final sample to be submitted. The most important aspect of long equipment life is the quality of the fill water . Low pH, high solids, bacterial contamination, unwanted chemicals, etc all lead to high chemical consumption and long term equipment corrosion and possible failure, all of which is expensive in the long run.
