GARN® GN2000 WHS | Operator Manual

When mixing and/or adding chemicals it is important to wear a respirator mask, appropriate gloves and safety goggles as small amounts of product may become airborne.

Following complete addition of the Cleaner, fill the unit and circulate the cleaner in the tank for 24 hours ( try not to exceed 48 hours ). The tank is full when the water begins to weep out of the overflow pipe. Set a 5 gallon plastic bucket under the overflow pipe to catch any overflow. If possible, heat your unit to at least 120 degrees F. This is easily accomplished if you have the optional GARN® electric Heating Package installed. We recommend heating because PreClean dissolves and acts faster when the water is hot. It will still work with cold temperature water, but when possible heat the tank. This is also a good time to check for minor leaks in the piping system.

If wood is used to heat the tank, condensation may occur because the fill water is cold. See the Owner’s Manual Section on CONDENSATION LEAK POINTS DURING

COLD FIRING

Finally, drain the system and thoroughly spray all interior tank surfaces with fresh water to remove all accumulated dirt and PreClean chemical. Drain all water and dirt. Remove sludge from the bottom of the tank by hand or with a wet/dry vacuum. Visually inspect the interior of the tank to ascertain that the unit is sufficiently clean to be filled with clean water. Remember to also flush the piping system to remove all the PreClean chemical contained in the pipes and pumps. THIS STEP IS CRITICAL AND NOT TO BE IGNORED! STEP 3 - TREATMENT After a thorough cleaning and flushing, begin filling the unit through the 5 micron filter with clean water from the approved source . CAREFULLY add all the liquid Water Treatment (CLT350) provided via the manhole when the unit is one quarter full (water is about 24” deep) to minimize unwanted splashing. Finish filling the unit until water begins to weep out of the overflow pipe. Set a 5 gallon plastic bucket under the overflow pipe to catch any overflow. Circulate the treated water continuously (heat not required) to assure complete product mixing throughout the system for at least 48 hours . Continue circulation for several days if this is a summer start-up. SDS copies are available free of charge upon request at Johnsonproducts2@gmail.com
