East Tennessee Nursing Excellence Award The American Organization for Nursing Leadership-Tennessee (AONL-TN) Knoxville Council selects the regional East Tennessee Nursing Excellence Awards. These awards are selected by a blinded process from submissions by regional facilities to recognize nurses who provide exemplary care.

2023 Recipients:

Andrew Sorey, MASc, BSN, RN, CCRP, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Cory Stewart, BSN, RN, PCCN –CVICU Annie Criswell, BSN, RN, E-AEC – ECMO Program

IRIS Award The IRIS Award was created to recognize contributions by Nursing Support Staff that promote excellent and compassionate care. Nursing Support Staff includes certified nursing assistants, health unit coordinators, monitor techs, patient care attendants (sitters) and other support staff. IRIS is an acronym for Individual Recognition for Incredible Service. The award recognizes Nursing Support Staff as valued, integral members of the health care team.

Angela Puccinelli, 8W NT, won the IRIS Award for fourth quarter 2023.

Quest Award QUEST is a clinical advancement program for registered nurses that provide direct patient care. QUEST is an acronym that describes attributes of the program: Quality, Unity, Excellence, Service, Transform. The program uses Benner’s (1984) Novice to Expert theory as a guide for program progression. Concepts from the Nursing Professional Practice Model are integrated into the program. These HLVI team members, Joseph Rizzo, Sarah Ellsworth, Sharon Sprague and Scott Warden, received QUEST recognition in 2023.
