Pollina t o r Habi t a t - Land s ca p e S upp l y Gi v ing Back t o Local School
At Landscape Supply, we believe in giving back to our community in ways that enrich both the land and the lives of those around us. This year, we were proud to partner with J.R. Tucker High School in Richmond to help build a pollinator habitat on campus — a space specially designed to encourage butterflies, bees, and other pollinating insects to thrive. What is a pollinator habitat ? A pollinator habitat is a garden or natural space planted with native flowers and plants that attract, feed, and shelter pollinating species. These habitats provide essential support for plants that need pollination — including many food crops — while also creating learning opportunities for students, improving local biodiversity, and helping to beautify the area. We were delighted to contribute materials and expertise, to get the habitat off the ground at J.R. Tucker. Watching students dig in, plant native blooms, and imagine the flutter of butterflies and buzz of bees among the blossoms was inspiring. By supporting this project, we hope to foster not just habitat, but also curiosity, stewardship, and a stronger connection between school and environment. Thank you to the J.R. Tucker community for inviting us to be part of something that will continue giving back for years to come. We look forward to seeing the habitat bloom — and flutter! We’re proud to share that Walker Supply was a sponsor of the 2025 Little League Baseball World Series, held this summer in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It’s always inspiring to see young athletes come together for this event — this year’s tournament featured 20 teams total (10 from the United States, 10 international) competing from August 13-24. Teams came from all over the U.S. — places like Illinois, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Nevada, Massachusetts, Washington, South Carolina, Texas, and Hawaii — and globally from countries including Taiwan (Chinese Taipei), Australia, Canada, Aruba, Czechia, Japan, Venezuela, Mexico, Panama, and Puerto Rico. We believe in the power of community, sportsmanship, and giving young people the opportunity to shine — and we’re honored to have supported this benchmark event. Chesapeake Valley Seed Intern Spotlight: Austin Smith This summer, Austin Smith spent his time with Chesapeake Valley Seed, and made us proud by earning his OSHA Forklift Certification. We’re excited to see Austin’s commitment to safety and growth, and we know his accomplishment sets a great example for our entire team.
