The municipalities (Innisfil, Collingwood, and Wasaga Beach) were chosen for comparison because they share some key similarities with Tillsonburg: similar population size; act as a service centre for surrounding rural municipalities, and all experienced substantial growth (between 13 and 21%) between the 2016 and 2021 censuses.
Tillsonburg’s current parkland provision of 4.3 hectares per 1,000 residents is in line with provision in comparable municipalities (Table 4-2). The comparative analysis of amenities (Table 4-3) suggests that Tillsonburg is within range of its counterparts for key park amenities as well. A notable exception would be outdoor pools, where Tillsonburg is the only Town to have one in this comparison.
