Aquatics Manager The Aquatics Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of aquatic facilities and programs. This includes supervision of staff, facility maintenance, program development, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards. The Aquatics Manager provides leadership to create an inclusive and engaging environment that promotes water safety, recreation, and fitness for all members. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Supervision Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate lifeguards, swim instructors, and other aquatic staff. Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, professionalism, and exceptional service for our members and their guests. Facility & Operations Management Oversee day-to-day operation of pools, and related equipment. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including health codes and pool chemistry standards. Coordinate facility maintenance and repairs with Maintenance department. Program Development Plan, implement, and evaluate aquatic programs such as swim lessons, water fitness, lifeguard training, and recreational events. Develop strategies to increase program participation and member engagement. Safety & Risk Management Maintain emergency action plans and ensure staff preparedness for all situations. Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and incident reviews. Uphold the highest standards of water safety and risk management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in aquatics or recreation management. Current certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, CPR/AED, and Water Safety Instructor (preferred); Certified Pool Operator (CPO). Strong knowledge of aquatic facility operations, risk management, and water safety protocols. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Working Conditions: Work is performed in both office and aquatic facility environments. Frequent standing, walking, lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs., and exposure to pool chemicals.
